of Lehigh & Northampton Counties
The Arc of Lehigh and Northampton Counties (The Arc) is monitoring the changing information regarding the Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic and working around the clock to ensure the safety and wellbeing of all those we serve in our The Arc community. Our teams are working hard to continue offering uninterrupted services and assistance to those we serve and closely following the directives issued by local health departments, the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, the Office of Developmental Programs (ODP) and the Center for Disease Control (CDC). The Arc will continue monitoring advisories and government directives as they relate to the pandemic and keep you posted of any changes.
Our Mission and Impact
The Arc of Lehigh and Northampton Counties champions a life of inclusion, opportunity, and equity for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD) through advocacy, education, and supports. The Arc of Lehigh and Northampton Counties envisions that all people with IDD are valued, respected, and fully included members of their community with the right to choose where they live, learn, work, and play. We align with The Arc of U.S. and The Arc of Pennsylvania in our beliefs around human dignity, personhood, choice, rights, community, support, equity, and diversity.
Who We Are
The Arc of Lehigh and Northampton Counties works passionately to champion a life of inclusion, opportunity and equity as we advocate for, educate, serve, and support children and adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD) and their families. We strive to ensure that all people with IDD have access to high quality programs which are responsive to their needs and that they are valued, respected and fully included members of our Lehigh Valley communities with the right to choose where they live, learn, work, and play.
What We Do
We are working to create a more inclusive and accessible future for people with IDD across the Lehigh Valley. Through our Advocacy department, SPARC Program and Agency with Choice Program, The Arc of Lehigh and Northampton Counties serves over 1,500 Pennsylvanians with intellectual and developmental disabilities of all ages each year.
What You Can Do
Each day, Pennsylvanians with intellectual and developmental disabilities and their families face obstacles to their inclusion in our Lehigh Valley communities, schools, and places of employment. With your help today, we can continue to work on breaking down these barriers and creating a more inclusive community for individuals and families with IDD!
