Nomination Form

The Arc of Lehigh & Northampton Counties is now accepting nominations for recipients of our 2024 One Step Forward Celebration Awards, which will be presented on Thursday, May 16, 2024 at DeSales University.  Please refer to the list of awards and use the form below to submit a nomination. Nominations are due by February 6, 2024.

DESCRIPTION OF AWARDS

 Allen D. Deibler Advocacy Award
Presented to those individuals who demonstrate exceptional efforts in improving the lives of individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities in the Lehigh Valley by advocating for the rights, welfare and quality of life, with particular emphasis on efforts to affect system changes.

One Step Forward Award
Presented to a person with an intellectual or developmental disability who is working towards independence and self-determination, leading a life of productivity and achievement within the community.

Dedicated Family Award
Presented to a natural, host, or adoptive family whose care for their child(ren) and assistance to other families as well as service to The Arc sets an example to families of people with intellectual and developmental disabilities in the Valley.

NEW! Community Impact Award
Presented to an individual or organization that has demonstrated exceptional dedication toward making a positive and lasting difference in the community for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Whether through innovative programs, transformative initiatives, or tireless advocacy, the recipient of the Community Impact Award will have demonstrated a commitment to improving the well-being, inclusivity, and overall quality of life of people with IDD.

Business Recognition Award
Presented to a business that has devoted their time, talents and resources to benefit and support The Arc and individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

NEW! Special Education Award
Presented to a teacher, administrator, or school staff member who has demonstrated innovative and effective approaches to supporting and empowering individuals with diverse learning needs. Whether through the development of inclusive programs, implementation of adaptive teaching methods, or dedication to fostering an environment of understanding and acceptance, recipients of the Special Education Award have significantly contributed to advancing the educational experience and outcomes for students with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
